Humberto “Tito” Nieves, born on June 4, 1958, in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, is a renowned salsa musician dubbed “El Pavarotti de la Salsa.” He began his career with Orquesta Cimarron and later collaborated with Héctor Lavoe’s Orchestra and Conjunto Clasico before launching his solo career in 1986. Nieves is celebrated for hits like “El Amor Más Bonito,” “Sonámbulo,” and “I Like It Like That,” and has worked extensively with producer Sergio George. He also paid tribute to Marco Antonio Solís with the 2007 release of “Canciones Clasicas De Marco Antonio Solís.” In 2021, Nieves appeared on Norberto Vélez’s YouTube channel for “Sesiones Desde La Loma Ep. 19.”
