Celebrating over 55 years in the industry, they are the cream of soul, embellishing smooth ballads and upbeat dance favorites. As one of the premier soul groups to ever grace the stage, their musical success can be attributed to an ingenious balance of soul, jazz, pop, disco and blues to the delight of millions of fans, The Whispers, have brought favorites including “It Seems Like I Gotta Do Wrong,” “Rock Steady,” “It’s a Love Thing,” and more.
Jeffrey Osborne, the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, held a master class with help from Richland One and the Auntie Karen Foundation on Thursday. Osborne’s event was open to middle and high school students from around the Columbia area.
No stranger to his work in Philanthropy, Osborne founded The Jeffrey Osborne Foundation and the Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Classic. The primary mission is to benefit non-profit organizations who support a continued push for music and arts to children and their families, as well as those who provide a safe haven for families in need. In the past six years through his Celebrity Golf Tournament the Jeffrey Osborne Foundation has donated over $750,000 to various charities in Rhode Island.
The Whispers continue to press on with the goal of re-recording their catalog of music. November 4, 2022 marked the release of their second single, “Rock Steady (Whispers’ Radio Version).” The dance version dropped on 12-29-22 in time for the New Year’s celebrations.
The tag “Whispers’ Version” will be included on each title so fans can distinguish their versions from those owned by the record labels. The catalog is being released independently by the Whispers in partnership with B & A Entertainment handling distribution and administration.
