Danny Seraphine

Chicago initially gained fame opening for music legends such as Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, and their debut album, *Chicago Transit Authority*, was released in 1969. The band has earned 23 gold, 18 platinum, and 8 multi-platinum albums, with five number-one albums and 21 top-ten singles, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016. Drummer Danny Seraphine was a key member of Chicago for 23 years, contributing to their success before leaving in 1990. After a 15-year hiatus, Seraphine returned to music, forming the jazz-rock group California Transit Authority (CTA) and writing his memoir, *Street Player: My Chicago Story*. Seraphine has received numerous accolades, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and being named one of Rolling Stone’s top 100 drummers of all time.
