Ashanti first gained fame as a featured artist on several hit songs in the early 2000s, including Ja Rule’s “Always on Time” and Fat Joe’s “What’s Luv?”. She released her debut album, “Ashanti,” in 2002, which included the hit singles “Foolish” and “Happy.” The album was a massive success, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and earning Ashanti a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album.
