Yemi Alade’s breakthrough into the North American music scene was a monumental moment in her career. Her hit single “Johnny” Not only amassed a staggering 163 million views on YouTube but also marked her as the first Afropop artist to cross the 100 million view threshold. This success catapulted her into the mainstream, earning her recognition by MTV and BET.
Continuing her ascension into the mainstream, in 2019, Yemi Alade appeared on Beyonce’s song “Don’t Jealous Me” from “The Lion King: The Gift” soundtrack.
