Lionsgate and Universal’s highly anticipated Michael Jackson biopic Michael is now set for a global theatrical release on Friday, April 24, including IMAX screenings, with Kino Films distributing in Japan and Universal handling the rest of the world. Directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Graham King—whose Bohemian Rhapsody grossed over $910M and won four Oscars—the film stars Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson and has undergone significant edits, including the removal of scenes referencing Jordan Chandler due to estate agreements. The release date positions Michael advantageously between major studio titles, making it a prime box office contender.
