Proyecto Uno was founded in New York by Nelson Zapata in 1989, blending merengue with dance, house, hip-hop, R&B, and tropical music to create a unique sound. Their debut album “Todo El Mundo” in 1991 gained popularity with hits like “Brinca,” establishing them in the US and Latin America. The group achieved platinum success with albums like “In Da House” and received numerous awards, including Billboard and Emmy’s. In 2013, they released “ORIGINAL,” followed by “ORGANICO” in 2018. The current members are Nelson Zapata, Kid G, and Paolo.
